定义：倒装（inversion）指将句子谓语放在主语之前。倒装分为全部倒装（full inversion）和部分倒装（partial inversion）。全部倒装指将谓语全部放在主语之前；部分倒装指将谓语的一部分放在主语之前。

目的：句型，句法结构，修辞（强调）。部分倒装：连词so,nor,neither在句首的句型部分倒装，表示“也如此”，“也不”。

如：I like Marvel movies, so does my wife.He doesn’t like Marvel movies, nor/neither does he like DC movies.连词as引导的让步状语从句部分倒装，将形容词/名词/副词/分词/谓语动词等放在句首。

如：Young as you are, you know a lot.Youths as you are, you know a lot.Try as he might, he couldn’t make it better.though引导的让步状语从句可以部分倒装也可以不倒装，而although引导的让步状语从句不可以倒装。

如：Strong though Hulk is, he was beaten by Thanos.（不可用although）Though/Although Hulk is strong, he was beaten by Thanos.if引导的虚拟条件从句部分倒装，去掉if，将情态动词/助动词/be动词放在句首。

如：Should you do it better, please let me know.(If you should do it better, please let me know.)Were I Iron Man, I would beat Thanos with others.(If I were the Iron Man, I would beat Thanos with others.)Had the Avengers killed Thanos, Iron couldn’t have been dead.(If the Avengers had killed Thanos, Iron Man couldn’t have been dead.)

比较和方式状语从句，为免重复，常省略谓语部分，须部分倒装。

如：Captain America has a stronger body than us, as does most of the Avengers.“程度副词so（如此地）+形容词/副词”在句首，该句子部分倒装。如： So powerful was Thanos that many Avengers failed to beat him.So hard did the Avengers try that they beat Thanos finally.

否定副词及词组在句首，该句子部分倒装。

如：No longer was Captain America cooperating with Iron Man.Under/In no circumstances did they fight together.Hardly had I done my work when the phone rang.Never does he swim there.(little, few, hardly, scarcely, never, nowhere, rarely, seldom, at no time, by no means, in no way, on no account等)

若否定副词在句中修饰主语，则句子不倒装。

如：Hardly anything interests the boy more than playing basketball.Scarcely a smile appeared on his face last week.“only+状语”在句首，该句子部分倒装。如：Only after several years did Avengers beat Thanos.
