谁没有遇到过自以为见识广博、喜欢给人上课的人？而这样说教的经常是男人？根据哈佛大学的一项研究，男人的确更喜欢滔滔不绝，而且面对女性时尤为如此，这就是“男人说教”。

Mansplaining is a portmanteau of the words man and explaining, defined as"to explain something to someone, typically a man to woman, in a manner regarded as condescending or patronizing."

“男人说教”是英文单词“男人”和“解释说明”两个词的合成词，指的是“向别人，通常为男性向女性，解释某件事情，而且是以一副居高临下的姿态”。

Mansplaining refers to explain in a patronizing manner, assuming total ignorance on the part of those listening.

“男人说教”的意思是以居高临下的说教姿态向对方解释某事，以为对方完全无知。

例如：

I've just had a guy mansplain my own job to me.

刚才一个男的对我讲解我自己的工作。

“自以为是、好为人师的人”就被称为mansplainer。

而mansplaining如今也不仅仅是男人的专利。在最近的美国总统大选辩论中，《纽约时报》用这个词描述希拉里 克林顿在最后一场总统辩论会上对特朗普发起的猛烈攻势：

She mansplained him. “Let me translate that if I can,” Hillary Clinton said dryly after Donald J. Trump talked up his tax plan.
