Life is not always full of smiles and flowers. So it is very important to have a correct attitude to face up the difficulties.
Two years ago, when I was busy for preparing the SAT and TOFEL, my teacher asked me to take part in a dance team in school competitions. He told me that the extracurricular activities could also give you the benefit on the application of the U.S. universities. But I thought I was not good at dancing and I need spend a lot of time on English learning, so I did not want to participate the dance team. Unable to withstand the teacher’s persuading, finally I joined the dance team and began to learn the dance. Fortunately, the dance teacher was very responsible, and taught the students carefully. Although I did not have much base on dancing, I learned quickly under the teacher's guide. At that time, because of the busy study on English, I took the dance as my only entertainment, so I learned the dance very seriously, sometimes I stayed in dance room for additional training. After a period of careful practice, I found the dance was not difficult as I thought, I began to doubt my judgment on my dancing. Maybe I was good at dancing but I was shy in public and did not have a try. With increasing of my confidence, I worked hard and performed well. The dance teacher took me as the leading dancer in the team. I felt very happy, but on the other side I have the responsibility to lead the team members dancing well. Fortunately, in the final school competition, we won the second which was the best reward for dancing in our class. My teacher was very happy and invited us to dinner, he told to me that difficulties was not terrible, the really terrible thing was giving up without trying.
I agree with the teacher's view very much, after this dancing activity, I found that the right way to face up difficulties is to be confident and brave, Confront difficulties with confident, and you will find the difficulties are not as hard as you thought. Try to solve the difficulties with brave and work hard, the difficulties will disappear and you will achieve success finally. If I was luckily selected by Penn State University, I will do many attempts in the college, not just hard study. I will explore and exercise my ability by participating in extracurricular activities, associations, commercial companies internships and so on.
